“Wesson Street” is based on an actual view of Wesson Street, just north of Buchanan, on Detroit’s west side.  The foreground of the St. Francis Assisi school playground sets off the row of still vibr
ant workers' houses under the shadow of a long abandoned factory.   “Wesson Street” is a Micropointillist technique acrylic on wood painting was created using only the three primary colors of yellow, red and blue.  It is framed by a simple oak frame. Weson Street was awared the 'Next Detroit' $1000 first prize.
