Expanding on the techniques of micropointillist painting, I have developed a novel technique of creating limited edition paintings. These paintings are acrylic on canvas paintings like the one-of-a-kind micropointillist paintings. The editions are made using a series of hand cut masking stencils which are used to created the water soluable mask. The masked paintings are then painted by spraying the primary colors just as with a one-of-a-kind painting. Each painting in the edition may vary greatly or only a little from the others, giving each a uniqueness that is united only by the overall form of the drawing. This is made possible by the ability to vary the amount of paint in the successive applications of paint, and by selecting primary colors with different pigment bases. VIEW ALL EDITIONS >> |
