The one constant throughout history is human nature.  History "repeats itself" because basic human traits recur. We love, hate, lie, are compassionate, envy, sacrifice, despise, praise, cower, show courage, exude confidence and ooze insecurity.  Over and over again thorugh out the millenia.  The plays of the Greeks are as current as those of Shakespeare, as those of the screen plays of today because our nature is unchanged.  Plugged into the existing power structure the repeating characters and plots become repetitive and circular.

Focus precedes philosophy.  What we choose to look at largely determines what we see and how we evaluate it.  After we make those choices we construct the towers for their defense and beds for their comfort.  "Every system is perfectly designed to produce it's current set of results. " Anonymous

Information age advice:  Never learn anything that you don't need for immediate use.  Information and knowledge are moving at an ever increasing pace.  If you take time to learn something you think you may need to know in the future, you will often find that when that future arrives you will have to learn it all over again as the knowledge will have so rapidly advanced.

The goal of education should be to stimulate curiosity and teach students how to find answers.  The rest they will learn on their own.

What is an artist?  Very simply an artist is someone who makes art from the heart and shares it with the world.
