WXYZ is experimenting with a new style of reporting on this story where they invite their website patrons to participate in steering the direction of the investigation. quote:WXYZ.com Interactive Explained Because we anticipate a wide range of opinions about this story, and the subject is Internet-based, we’ve decided to cover it in what you could call a non-traditional style. Instead of interviewing the key players ahead of time, neatly packaging their comments, and presenting you with a “finished” report, we want you to get involved in shaping the story and telling us what questions you want answered. We believe this approach works particularly well with this story because all the key information is already in the public domain. We’re seeking to tell you, without editorial opinion, what we discovered on the Internet – and get your reaction. How you respond will shape the coverage of this story. For more, see Now Playing on YouTube: Detroit Fires. (Message edited by Jimaz on April 10, 2007) |

Quote from the "Now Playing on YouTube" link above FACT: 1. Since January 8, 2008, 10 videos of Detroit fires have been posted on YouTube.com (some are duplicated on MySpace.com). Didn't know January 8, 2008 had come and gone...did I miss something? As a firebrat, I think it's a double edged sword to post action video of fires from a helmet cam. It's interesting to see our guys in action but, at the same time, scary as hell to know that this is what our loved ones do everyday. |
