"Mayor Kwame M. Kilpatrick encourages residents, community groups, businesses and faith-based organizations to participate in the annual Motor City Makeover bag-litter campaign Saturday May 5, May 12, and May 19.

“This is the sixth year we have implemented this initiative, so we have set a goal to recruit 65,000 volunteers to clean up 6,000 tons of litter,” Mayor Kilpatrick said. “We are asking all of our neighborhoods, businesses, community groups and youth to take ownership in our communities by making it clean and beautiful.”

Motor City Makeover is the Mayor’s annual spring cleaning initiative designed to clean up the city and create a community cohesiveness that fosters greater respect and appreciation for one's neighborhood. "

Let's get out there and make a difference! Check the website to see which sectors are scheduled for clean up on which weekends in May.
