I saw a guy sitting on the overpass on I75 about three weeks ago. The police got him down. I wonder if it's the same one. How many depressives would have the same idea? Very sad.

Remember the COP who took a dive off the Motor City Casino parking deck not long after they opened?! (or was that MGMs?!) They sure made THAT story die quickly!

These desperate divers are beginning to look like a trend, at least Dearborn doesn't have the franchise on 'em...save maybe for altitude.

I don't remember a cop diving at a casino, but I do remember a sheriff's deputy shooting himself on the gaming floor at Motor City.

Yeah, wasn't a swan dive, it was him eating a bullet after losing a ton of money. I was told that that incident is one of the reasons why you can not carry your weapon into a casino. Makes sense to me, as I'm sure many people feel like ending it all after losing everything they got.

Casinos do bring on emotions of anger. You see folks stomping around pissed off all the time.
"Only if I woulda, only if I shoulda..."

I also remember then, somebody jumping off the third or fourth floor of the Motor City casino...around the time that deputy shot himself.

Thanks for filling in the grotesque blanks in my memory banks...

His name was officer Bell. I believe it was at a high roller's Blackjack table at Motorcity Casino.

I believe it has more to do with the fact that they serve booze at the casinos. If I recall correctly, it's illegal in Michigan to carry a firearm into any place where alcohol is served.

Booze and guns are two great things that don't always mix well.

I really hated the taste of my martinis before we learned NOT to stir them with my Baretta.

Some people who lost their jobs, homes, families and even their minds that death to HELL is their only escape. Those who want to commit suicide might want to think twice about their wonderful life before departing from Earth.

Jjaba,

Your're right the gambling money!

Those three caSINos in Detroit are a BIG exploiting nuisance to the poor depressed almost jobless Detroiters, suburbanites and the rest of Michigan. They just a bunch of native American/ Neo-Conservative rich folks from Vegas making a quick buck off of losers and not putting more revenues to Detroit but to their pockets. CaSINos don't care about charity, only endless hunger of profits.

In Bell's case there was controversy over why he was allowed to have a firearm in the casino. Turned out that only because he was an officer (although off duty) he was indeed carrying legally.

Sad case. Money's not worth that price.

I remember seeing a guy laying in one of the lanes of 696 eastbound after Groesbeck a few years ago after he jumped off of the overpass and got hit by a car. I don't keep a camera handy like Bullet, but it was quite a sight.
