This is a win-win for both companies. In my opinion, Ford needs to concentrate on a smaller niche and this does not include luxury brands such as this. They also picked up nearly a billion dollars...money they definitely need right now.

Aston Martin was a complete waste of money for Ford. It never should have bought it in the first place.

I can't think of one success story when a company like Ford or GM has bought out a niche brand. The main attraction to these cars is the cache` they have in the marketplace, which is destroyed once the buyers know the company is owned by GM or Ford.

Aston Martin had its best year in the company's history last year. In fact, it was the first time in 40 years they turned a profit. From selling double-digit cars in some years in the 90's, to selling 5,000 last year, I'd say they came a long way.

sigh - I guess we'll never see the Aston Martin Fairmont that was planned. Hopefully this won't derail the introduction of the Volvo Granada...I've already got my order in!
