Does anybody remember Gold Chip Potato Chips? They had their factory on Jos. Compeau just south of Davidson. I took dance lessons at Americana studios and before I would catch the bus home I would stop at the factory and get a .25 cent bag to eat on the bus. The theaters carried them....which brings us to another thread....

I've got tins for New Era, Superior, Twin Pines, and Charles Chips.
The Twin Pines one is marked with a 50 cent deposit.

All were awesome though.

On the back of the Better Made chips bag, it says that in 1934 there were over 20 potato chip companies in Detroit!

I recall Tins being used until the late 70s for Chips and up until mid 80s for crackers.

Gold Chip was pre-Better Made. I remember that Better Made came out just after Gold Chip disappeared. Better Made was my Gold Chip replacement. I have a bag of Better Made Crunchy in my cupboard as we speak. But nothing would warm my heart more than to wrap my chops around a Gold Chip Potato Chip once again. I don't believe that I ever saw a tin for Gold Chip.
