I started a forum for record collectors in metro Detroit. Those who collect vinyl, out-of-print CDs, 8-tracks, hell, even reel-to-reel, are welcome. Address: http://detroitrecords.informe. com I know some people had expressed interest in a group. Maybe this could be a starting point? |

Should also note that this could eventually be a great place to unload those records gathering moss in your basement. There is a forum where you can post what you have and what you want for it. Could save you a trip to the Salvation Army AND net you some cash. |

Wow, reel-to-reel magnetic tape. I remember three sizes. What were they? 7½",5", and 3-3/4"? One of those is probably wrong. |

i'm on AndyLinn, lets find some good Beach Boys! I think I have about three extra copies of "Pet Sounds" if you're needy. I buy it every time I see it. Pretty sure two of the extras are mono; one is in "duophonic stereo," which just seems redundant to me. I might have a couple extra copies here and there, but nothing rare or hard to find like "PS." |

7 1/2 and 3 3/4 are inches-per-minute tape speed. Reels are often 5 or 7 inches in diameter, especially for home/ personal tape recorders. 1/4", 1/2" and other measurements in the low inches usually refer to tape diameter. I have some really old reels that I wish I could convert one of these years... any former concert tapers out here..? |

I'm a current concert taper, though I haven't bothered for about a year or so. Even then, I just use MiniDisc. I'd love to hear what you've got on tape, though, Erikto. |
