Exactly what I was going to say...is this the first time Chene Park has torched a restaurant?

(Wilus, it's called a misplaced modifier)

Chene Park...wasn't he president of Korea a couple decades back? I've heard nothing but bad things about him.

You know--I bet that damn Chene Park fella was the bastard who busted car windows in my Apt. parking lot all the way over here in the corridor.

That dudes malfeasance knows no locally known geographic boundaries.

But seriously folks--Which one was it?

Chene Park along with his brothers Elliot and Aubin formed the core of Detroit's legendary Green Gang. They ruled the East Riverfront during the late 70's and 80's and were primariliy known for "silo busting". They have fallen into obscurity in recent years, but now it seems that Chene's back and up to no good.

There was a new restaurant by Chene Park? How new was it? I haven't recalled a new one there ever. Maybe on Joseph Campau St. by River Place?

I have a flyer down on the coffee table, I think the place is called "They Say." My guess would be it's this place, since they opened in the past year or so...but that's only a guess. I don't think Chene Park was starting any fires though.

This place is a block south of the Manchester Apartments on Jefferson. Also, it's around the corner from Studio51 which is on Woodbridge. It's not "They Say" which is on Jos Campau a few doors down from the new Staples.

I think this place used to be called the "Woodbridge" Bar and Grill. The current incarnation is called the "Stinky Rose." Never actually saw it opened, but the name has been on the front door these past two or three years.

Chene Park and his fiery ways. Here?

Damn, I figured I'd shake that sneaky rascal fer' good. He vowed he'd make good on the 500,000 Won gambling and kimchee debt I owed 'em no matter what.

Ya' see our ship was layed up in Pusan, Korea for a spell. Our crew was frequenting a house of big fun Park ran on Texas Street and one night my luck ran out....

Referring to that picture, Chene Park needs to reverse the hair on his head.

Also, Chene is fat and needs to shut his pie hole.

Who remembers the Chene gang? They were a prominent Detroit eastside gang in 50's - 60's.

The name of the place was the Stinky Rose if I remember correctly from the news this morning. Does anybody know exactly where it was? I just hope it wasn't the old Captains, that place is cool inside with at least one wall of Vernors wood crates.

It was the Woodbridge that burned, looks like they did it good this time. So sad, I loved the old Woodbridge and the Soup Kitchen and hated when the area got "sold out"

The Stinky Rose was still quite stinky this afternoon.

I miss the bars in that area, used to have a blast back in the early to mid-90s — the Soup Kitchen was definitely a great place to hang out. There was another bar, around the corner and down the street, I think it was called the Rivertown Saloon? Does that name sound right? Have I butchered it?

We watched the OJ slow-speed chase on the TV there. Of course, it was interrupting a Pistons game, but it turned out to be unusually momentous.

It wasn't the Pistons, it was the Rockets and Knicks in the NBA finals.
