My mom worked at the Taystee Bread building from 1978 until she was laid off in 1995. Does anyone know the current fate of the building? I don't know the exact address but I recall it being somewhere near Martin/McGraw. She worked in the accounting office and I have great memories of visiting her at work, specifically the fresh bread straight off the line.

My 1940 City Guide says 1531 Lemay, which is on the eastside near the corner of Jefferson between the Waterworks and Jefferson Assembly.

A 1977 phone book I have says 5721 Martin [between McGraw and Warren] and 33800 9 Mile [Farmington].

Your mom probably work on Martin.

My 1940 Polk's directory lists Taystee at 1531 Lemay and a branch location at 5721 Martin.

My 1935 Polk's does not have a listing for Taystee, but it has the Tri-State Baking Co. at both 5721 Martin and 1531 Lemay.

My 1925 Polk's lists just the Lemay location for Tri-State.

Thanks guys, it was the Martin address she worked at. I even remember the phone number! Nice pictures Mikem. Methinks we'll do some reminiscing this weekend.
