The coppers (sheriff's office, too) park along Central, Lonyo, and other spots in SW Detroit. Not only to spot or deter scrappers, but more to serve warrants and make arrest on outstanding warrants, so I hear.

But knowledge about new ways to make money from scrapping probably propagates fast from word-of-mouth at the scrap yards.

a buddy of mine in buffalo had his ripped out while he was at work this past summer. and he's in a fairly nice part of buffalo too
