I would like to get some general feelings from the forum regarding apartments and rental properties in the Midtown, Woodbridge, and Brush Park area.

It seems there is allot of activity, but it seems to be mostly units to purchase? Are the more loft/condos under construction then rental units?

Is there a shortage or abundance of rental properties?

Who are the rental properties targeted towards?

Are the poor folks being pushed out? Where are they going?

Are there any studies or anything on Midtown that indicate the trends in the housing market, or what the market can handle?

Who are the major developers/property managers in the area?

What are the best resources for finding rental units?

Thanks everyone!

THIS: http://detroitmidtown.com/05/m idtown.php is the resource you want. It covers downtown to New Center and you can break down a search between rentals and non-rentals.

Thanks. UCCA (who runs the site) is a great neighborhood organization.

Yes the poor are being pushed out!

They will build as long as there is a market.

Did you take a look at that page?

There were rentals there as cheap as $525 per month and homes for sale as cheap as $80K. That's a long way from "gentrification".
