Damn, talk about a spin. So, Detroit makes some serious progress, and this is the title of the thread? Every major city in Michigan will face declining tax bases for quite a few years more to come, that's stating the obvious. But give credit where credit is do when something good is done. Jeeze. I see I need to get out of her, soon. Took a week or so hiatus, and reading this forum just makes one depressed. |

That article was worthy of two different threads, since it said two different things: 1. Our budgeting is on track and the mayor is actually predicting budge surpluses. (Bwaaaahahahaha.) 2. We're $157 million in the hole, with revenue sharing decreasing. (The article didn't mention the pending lawsuit regarding the $300 trash fee. If the city loses, that'll add $60 million to the budget hole.) |
