Development to keep on keepin on, for those of means who are moving into the city, and those of us who have never left the city.

I'd like to see the city evolve yet again and move beyond its present day stigma of being a crime, filled dysfunctional city that everyone claims it to be.

I'd like to see more of the city's many blocks continue to fill up with infill development for those who may not have the means to move into a swanky loft downtown.

I'd like to see more major construction projects that makes sense from an urban standpoint, and I'd like to see the suburban architectural mindset die a gruesome death.

I'd like to see the momentum continue (this is a far different city than the one it was when I joined the army in '93), and further show the nation with their collective shortsightedness that Detroit is still the place to be.

I'd like to see a little more regional cooperation, instead of a multitude of fiefdoms arguing over petty issues like a bunch of school kids so their leaders can remain in power.

I'd like for the people who reside in the city to not only take more of an active role in its rebound, but a more visible one as well to show our detractors that we 'don't just accept things the way they are'.

I'd like for Detroit to be the City I never knew but have only heard of from older people.

And I believe that day is coming soon...It {will} happen ladies and gentlemen...

I truly believe.

* And how about having some of the stores that I have to go into the burbs for, back in the greater downtown region (There's no reason the largest city in the state can't have legitimate retail).

I would like to see people from outside Detroit who haven't been to Detroit in years stop assuming that every new project in Detroit is doomed to failure.

My top 4 (and they will be from 'north to south' on the map):

1). TechTown comes to pass (as much as possible in '07 anyway),

2). More in-fill development along Woodward from WSU to I-75 (like the WSU announcement of development between Forest and Canfield),

3). A new hockey arena behind the Fox,

4). Shovels in the ground for new housing along the river.

All are distinct possibilities.
