Cool pix! Those ice boats appear to powered with an airplane engine. You might be able to identify Pic 2 if you can read the name of the Fsh and Chips place. Ookpik |

Hey bullet- I have the cars identified, doesn't shrink down to under 550 and retain the text I've added. Send me an email at 56packman (at) twmi(dot)rr(dot)com and I'll send you full sized photos to upload to photobucket |

I would've guessed up around Anchor Bay based on the look of the buildings. |

I agree with Ct4438. I seem to remember the pilings near shore like they are when going ice fishing in the 70's and 80's. Sure looks like the ice shanty village just a different era. |

Here is an aerial of the location Fareastsider identified and the buildings facing the lake match up with those in the old photo!

I remember my dad driving out onto the lake to do some ice fishing. I could hear the ice crack and it scared the bejesus out of me. Still, we brought home some great perch. Look for a pic with a green 1953 Mercury 4 door sedan, that might be us. I also remember some car racing out there on the ice. |

Good work, all. Now that we have the location, I do recall being out there a time or two as a youngster. My Dad was big on fishing, and this is one place that was favored buy many a fisherman. Renees is a place I tipped a few as a young adult. Thanks Fareastsider. |
