Okay, what about the small parks that were scattered around neighborhoods and had some interesting features.... Sasser, Rossiter etc...these were filled with kids in the sixties and seventies. Parks and rec: would come in the summer with painting and activities. Baseball in summer, football in fall and ice skating in winter... Sand box filled with castles and moats. safe for kids ...no adults.. Mom would drive all over with neighborhood kids to find unique parks ...forts, whales etc... call out the names and themes by you/// |

thanks...the rosedale thread has some great pictures of the local park there also...those parks sure sparked a lot of imagination. |

Are the architectural structures still there...if so those would make for great photo's...Bear do you know if the parks and rec department still has activities at the pars...that would be a great thing for the young kids... |

Heilmann - might not be considered "small" but was certainly a neighborhood park. Skinner field adjacent to Denby, often considered part of the high school grounds. Messmer Park off Cadieux near Mack. |

Mikem, is that 'saddle' play thing in the park behind Trix Elementary? I sure think I used to play on it there. What is the name of that park? We can't remember, but played there alot as grandma and grandpa's house was 4 houses away on Eastburn. |
