I am trying to locate where a family member of mine, my grandfather, lived in Detroit. I know he lived with his sister and her husband, Paul Bruder, on Hecla Street in 1943/1944. I am not sure if Paul owned or rented the house they lived in. I am interested to find an address and see if the house is still standing. Any suggestions?

Start at the Main Branch Library on Woodward. They have a reference library where they keep old utility books. You can cross reference by date, street, or name. The books are old and fragile, but a good place to start.

Paul J & Theresa Bruder
6051 Hecla, owner-occupied

Paul is listed as an employee of the Ebling Creamery Co.

This might be it but the addresses don't match up well with the pictures in this software.

I typed the address on Google Earth. It pointed right at the street and not a house though.

Thanks a ton Mikem...you are great. I don't know how you do it, but it is great. I talked with my grandfather and a flood of memories came back to him. Now I have another one for you...who lived on 152 Hunt Street in 1891/92? I am looking for a name and am having a hard time finding anything. I think this was before the addresses were re-aligned.
