I heard about the "Broken" film premiere at the Emagine Theatre in Novi next week. Too bad they couldn't screen it in Detroit (Is there a venue in Detroit that shows digital films?), but they shot part of it in Detroit. It's a sex, art and drugs film about The Boyfriend, The Junkie and The Girl directed by Derek Justice and David DeLeon. The stars are David Gries, Aziza Amy Poggi and Steve Hopton. Their myspace page (www.myspace.com/brokenmovie) says that they made it for under $1,000 and the screenplay was a finalist in the "Project Greenlight" contest. It's really amazing to see how much people can produce with so little money. There's sure a lot of talent in this town. |
