I slept with my window open last night, and the amount of sirens was rediculous. I ended up having to close them. I live near Woodward and Warren near the Med Center, but still it sounded like there was a disaster going on over night. I woke up to nice westerly view of the fire shown here. |

Nice sunny Sunday morning. We had an arsonist taking a stroll. He hit Roosevelt and Buchanan half hour earlier. Thanks for the photos. |

Tony_box_42 are you with DFD? I could tell the fire fighters on this blaze had been very busy by their banter. If you are, or anyone else here is, I would be interested in hearing what the weekend stats were for fires. I do know that there is arsonist(s) working in the city as I have gotten some info from a DFD acquaintance. Rocket_city is a testament to this. Charlottepaul, I’m just grateful the graffiti doesn't read: 'FUCK BM'. The frontal view shows 'DOPE BALZ'. I would like to hear what others think. (Message edited by Bulletmagnet on April 29, 2007) |

Great pics Bullet, looks like you were at the right place at the right time. I am surprised they let you get so close though. |

Right place, right time? I'm not usually walking down 17th Street on Sunday morning, but today I was. I saw smoke rising from about four miles away and tore over there for some DQP's. Up close and personal, at your own risk. I got sprayed once and still smell of smoke. Dont get in the way, and don't ask stupid questions; 'Are you gonna save the basement?' |

Some one needs to string these arsonists up by the nuts. They're the reason anyone who lives in the City has to pay high insurance rates. |

These pictures don't even look like they took place in an urban environment. |

I'd call this addition by subtraction. Anyone know how Detroit's program to demolish abandoned structures is going? |
