They have an awful lot of work to get through. It seems like there's been a brief pause in the construction in the past couple or weeks. |

Nice pics, but this could've gone in the BC construction thread. |

I would've had it in there had it not been for the one Griswold picture. There are a couple of others, but they didn't turn out so well. |

The last three nights while on my late-night smoke break at work, I've seen dumptrucks hauling loads of the ol' People's Outfitting Co. Building away. Wish I had snagged a brick from it. |

Are you "Michi" on the Urban Planet forum, or are you someone else just claiming his photos as your own? |

I never really noticed how many little chunks seem to be missing from here and there on the facade. |

A lot of those chunks missing from the BC facade were of damaged pieces, pulled out by the work crews for replacement. |

Think that they will avoid sand blasting the face with the blue on it that looks like it is crying? That would be sweet if they left like at least one piece of something like that to remind those that look at the building how 'low' it had gotten and now how far it has come. |

Charlottepaul, your idea reminds me of NYC's Grand Central Terminal restoration and how the workers left a square of grimy ceiling in the concourse as a reminder of how dingy the place was. |

Great pictures guys. I too used to post over there but I was banned from UP over something stupid. I was basically the one who brought the Flint forum from the dead and then they banned me for standing up for a Detroiter on the Grand Rapids forum. oh well. |

I was talking to the security guard last Saturday evening, he says they had a small crew in there doing some fireproofing. |
