I don't want to say exactly what at this time, but it would sell stuff you don't have to have, but would buy it if you seen it.( if that helps ) Not food. The Opera House Garage is in a great location, but probably at too high a price. I will look into it though. |

Contact Alex Bieri at abieri@biericompany.com. He lives downtown and is leasing agent with his father's Bieri Company, who are leaders in downtown leasing. [He's a good handball player too.] www.bieri-ames.com/home.asp |

If you are looking for cheap, think outside CBD. In my experience, it's pretty expensive, especially for what you get (e.g. no foot-traffic or neighbors). Midtown or Corktown might be pretty good spots to look. Of course there are little hidden values everywhere. You might want to take a look at the spot on Woodward next to Tall Eez (across from Oslo). There's a sign in the window. It's a fixer upper. |

I think the ground floor of the Kales Building is still available, though likely isn't low budget. Somebody talked a lot of talk about moving in there at one time, but eventually backed out. (jab) |

Yeah, I remember that! If I recall correctly, it had something to do with a $70,000 buildout being required. But I could be wrong. |

Excuses, excuses. Always blame the landlord. I heard it had to do with lack of effort and lack of heart. |

I heard Gardner-White is taking the space, so it worked out just the same. |

Don't even get me started with my rant about downtown landlords and the sea of empty ground-floor space! I am boycotting ground floor retail. |

Yes, I think it must be Gardner-White. I thought I saw Bill Bonds walking up and down the sidewalk in front of the building wearing a sandwich board saying "Check out our new Clearance Center" on the front and on the back "Pleather daybeds-- No payments until January 2008!" --Brenda |

It seems like a great use of that space, actually. It is my understanding that both ground floor spaces can be connected. It would be a great idea to have a showroom there for downtown residents and then they could have deliveries made from the warehouse. Good news! |

There is a space next to Tall Ez Shoes that is for rent,I spoke to the woman who is leasing it(lives above Oslo if I'm not mistaken)I forget what the rate was but I remember it being reasonable. Also she doesn't make you sign a long term lease, that way if the business doesn't do so well you arent stuck with a 3-5 lease and end up getting sued. The number is on the for rent sign thats taped to the window. |
