The pricing seems pretty steep for me, but I wouldn't mind spending the money if I knew what it included? Food? Tasting Tickets? Or do you have to pay for that once you get there?

I remember some folks saying they went last year, but I don't remember them shairng any details.

And on the ticket order page, this overview of the event:

Detroit Uncorked is a premier wine tasting event benefiting The Children's Center. It is presented by Ford Motor Company and created and organized by the Detroit Wine Organization. The event features 800 wines from around the world, light hors d'oeuvres, entertainment, a silent wine auction and more! The event will be held on Friday, September 29, 2006 at Ford Field in Detroit from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $80 for non-Detroit Wine Organization (DWO) members and $75 for DWO members. Membership in DWO is free. Click here to join today.

Sharmaal: Sounds like the wine tasting and hors d'oeuvres are part of the ticket price.

Sharmaal,

Tasting food sounds kind of good, but tasting tickets sounds rather bland. :-)

i went with the missus, and we got bombed! you're supposed to limit yourself to a certain number of tastes, but there is no way for them to regulate it. everything is included in your ticket price. the only problem was that many of the most sought after wines ran out quickly. if you have a certain vineyard you must try, i suggest getting to it in a hurry. it was mainly the wines that had been awarded medals in the competition that ran out.

it was crowded, but overall a lot of fun. glad i booked a room at the garden inn! we'll do it again next year, when the missus isn't knocked up with a future udm grad.

Cut down on the expensive cigars and the $80 ticket would seem like chump change...

$80 for a charity event does not seem unreasonable at all. Plus it's a good cause. I say go for it.

Bump. This event is today. I'm a little under the weather, but If I jet out of work early and take a nap I may muster up the strength to go. Anybody else?
