Grandfather came over around 1925, met my grandmother around 1930 and settled in your grandmother's neighborhood and was a minister at an Episcopal church near there.

Mom came from Dienze, Belgium in 1923 or so. Married a Scots/Irish Canadian whose family emigrated to the colonies from Ireland pre revolutionary war then went to Canada because they were true Orangemen. United Empire loyalists.
I guess with that background, I'm an American.

Thanks Tarkus. I can't recall their cross streets off hand. Their house was cool, though. It had the main floor and a fully livable basement with kitchen, bedroom, living room and full bath. Upstairs there was a one bedroom apartment where a hungarian friend, Susie lived. My folks stayed up there for awhile before Susie came. Grandparents names were Maurice and Irma. Dad was Marcel. Mom is Margaret and dad has a sister Yvonne.
