I found a remedy for my dog's prolific persistent and quite smelly ear infection. I flooded the ear canals with medicated clear dandruff shampoo, and irrigated with warm water. She's a lot more comfortable after this process, which has to be repeated weekly. Previously I would try to stay on top of the problem with Q tips but I found this would just pack the garbage further down inside of her ear.

Any one else have interesting remedies to share?

Sore throat: Nuke a glass of orange juice and drink it. Yeah, it tastes like complete crap, but it works like a miracle.

Far as I could tell growing up, warm Vernors can cure pretty much anything that ails you.

Doctor that made those house calls looked a little gnomish, though.

Try flushing ears (human or animal) with hydrogen peroxide. Also good as a sore throat gargle...whitens teeth too.......:-)

I read somewhere that if you eat honey on a daily basis that has been produced from your area your seasonal allergies will decrease.

Kathi,

That is absolutely true...but don't let the news out, the bees have been drafted into corporate use...we don't want them recruiting ours out of our backyards!
