Historic tax credits: Federal historic preservation tax incentives are available for buildings that are National Historic Landmarks, are listed in the National Register or contribute to National Register Historic Districts and certain local historic districts. A 20 percent federal tax credit is available and an additional 5 percent state tax credit.
