I have been trying to get someone to paint my house forever now. Nobody shows up to give me an estimate, nobody calls back, it's absolutely rediculous. Even Father and Son wouldn't come out because the job was "too small". HEY! I thought no job's too small! Apparently any job under $1,100 is too small. I already have the paint (i think its enough). If anybody is interested, please respond and we will discuss.

Thats what they all say! Then nobody shows up. Apparently all painters are all so independantly wealthy they have no need to follow up with prospective clients at all.

I already have the paint

I think that's the problem. Most contractors want to use their own materials or a specific brand, especially if you expect them to stand behind their work.

Good luck finding a painter who isn't an alcoholic or a druggie. There is actually a painting company I see around Oakland county who goes by the name 1-800-NO LOSERS

And there are painting contractors who are completely professional, but they tend to stay in commercial work.

That's fine Mikeg, I haven't told anybody they have to use the paint I have. That hasn't even come into the picture yet, them even calling me back or showing up for an estimate is the hurdle I'm stuck at.

Oh yeah, a new update. So I get a call a week later from a guy who drove by and checked the place out to give me a quote. He quotes me a reasonable amount, what I expected, but then says "so you have your own sprayer right?" because he saw I have done some painting around the houes already. I say yes but it's just a little wagner hand-held, not really a pro sprayer. He says that's fine he'll use that. I'm like, wait, you don't have your own equipment? He says no, it would be extra if he had to rent one.

NEXT.

I can vouch for Jay - He did some restoration work for me just last week, and he previously painted my whole house exterior. Good stuff and a swell chap.

Yeah I ended up getting the house painted. Great guy, Oscar, did it for real cheap, did a great job. Came and gave me an estimate on a Thursday, when I got home from work on Monday, the house was DONE. Really couldn't be any happier with it.

313-914-7777, I believe he takes jobs pretty much all over. Lives in Detroit though.

Does he do interior painting as well?

If I go another month looking at this blue tape on the walls I'll lose it completely.
