I have a collection of a local magazine circa late sixties, which was edited by local news icon Lou Gordon. Liberal leaning, the magazine focused on hot button issues such as black-white relationships, the war in Vietnam, police brutality and misconduct, integration etc. There is some very informative articles relating to organized crime in the city. Mafia related arsons, and gambling occured on or near east and west 7 mile. It is interesting to look at some of the ads.

Detroit Scope was a weekly magazine born out of the Detroit newspaper strike of 1967-68. The publication didn't last much longer than the strike.
