Over on McGraw street yesterday around 2pm, four different abandoned houses all up in flames at once ! They caught a suspect thanks to observant neighbors who got the ear of the police at the scene. Im wondering if this might also be the Highland Park arsonist ? |

Could it be that arsonists are the scum of the Earth and the cause of physical delapidation in Detroit? |

Abandoned buildings are only a problem if we let them become a problem. Leaving them unsecure, and unwatched, is how arson happens. Arson is a bad thing for the city, meaning that our buildings are one of our greatest resources each one that is lost is another potential redevelopment gone. Anyway at least the neighbors on McGraw were watching and they caught the guy. |

Abandoned buildings dont cause blight; blighted buildings that are scrapped and set on fire do. |
