The night shot, showing what looks to be the YMCA, is my new Windows desktop background. Thanks! |

There are quite a few pictures that I consider keepers posted there. Lots of vantage points that I've never seen either, keep it up. |

Yeah, I wouldn't be so keen on puting up faces of people breaking laws. Good flicks, though. (Message edited by Sticks on December 03, 2006) |

No sarcasm. Property owners and their agents (for example, security guards) may only use reasonable force to protect their property. Maybe Michigan will adopt this: "A notable exception is the U.S. state of Texas, where it is legal to use deadly force against trespassers after dark (Penal Code § 9.42)." |

This morning passing by the Metropolitan Building I saw a plywood board out of place. Hm, it wasn't like that on Friday. Learn to leave it as it is! |

Putting your mug on the internet is never a good idea and in this case they made a very bad decision but, I can't see how their wandering into these easily accessable buildings to just take pictures is any GREATER a crime than the total neglect of the current owners. "I haven't dropped a dime in this bitch since the 80's yet you a**holes can't come in here to TAKE PICTURES!. I'm a property manager damn it." |

At least they only took pictures, and not any pieces of the structures or damage anything. I figure if they made tours of these places, maybe even mandatory for school kids, this would put a face to the "myth" that Detroit was once the Paris of the United States. The city must have been just as stunning even without the centuries old history that Paris boasts. The kids walk by totally oblivious to everything around them.I know, I was just the same. If they know nothing about the place where they live, they will never learn to appreciate it, seeing the MCS as just an old,and dilapidated dump. The kids don`t even have an inkling about THEIR history as Detroiters-a heritage just as important or even more important than (in my humble, not asked for opinion) ethnic or racial heritage because it reflects where WE are as ONE people and where WE are going together. |
