"Some of Detroit’s best artists will open their studios in the Pioneer Building on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006, 2-8 p.m. In the sixth annual Pioneer Open Studio Tour, visitors are invited to walk freely through twenty-seven multi-media workspaces. The event, which attracts more than 1,000 visitors annually, provides a wonderful opportunity for people from all walks of life to meet working artists. The building and its artists are part of a national trend to resurrect industrial spaces, transforming them into vibrant workplaces. The Pioneer Building is located at 2679 East Grand Boulevard in Detroit, one mile east of Woodward Avenue and just east of Russell Street. Free admission, guarded parking, and refreshments.
