The kitschy/retro/vintage basement store formerly of the Eastern Market is reopening, in true celebratory form, where Birdtown once was.
The festivities will be going until Midnight on Saturday.
9/23/06

I think the area has a lot of potential, and it'll be neat to have two peculiar vintage shops [the other one is Showcase Antiques] next to each other, and K-9 to 5. Hopefully other people will open up shop in the nearby storefronts.

Location:
3401 Cass Ave. Detroit, MI 48201
[formerly Birdtown Pet Shop]
on the corner of Cass Ave. & Peterboro
one block west of Woodward

I wish someone would reopen Chungs. I never had the pleasure of eating there, but I've heard stories.

Oh, the Mantra opening was amazingly fun.
