The September 9th joint Detroit Historical Society and Bluewater Michigan Chapter National Railway Historical Society Amtrak excursion to the Marshall Michigan Historic Home Tour was a great success.

Some 105 passenger rode from Birmingham and Deaborn for the special stop in Marshall 13 miles east of Battle Creek. All the passengers I spoke with had a great time, especially lunch at Win Schuler's.

The next DHS/Bluewater Amtrak excursion is Saturday, October 21 to the Kalamazoo Aviation Museum better known as the "Air Zoo." Boarding points again are Birmingham and Deaborn where there's good free parking.

This is a rail and aviation adventure for the whole family.

Tickets are $79 for adults before October 1st and $85 thereafter. Chldren ages 2-15 are $57 before Ocotber 1 and $63 after. These prices include the normal $20 admission to the Air Zoo.

Shuttle Bus service will be provided between downtown Kalamazoo and the Air Zoo five miles away in Portage. There are numerous things to do in downtown Kazoo including the Kalamazoo Musuem of Arts.

For more information and to order tickets, telephone the Bluewater Chapter at (248) 541-1000.
