This looks to be a very promising thing for Wayne Co. The county is looking at a continuous trail along the Detroit River from the Det/GPP border to Brownstown. That would be a very cool thing: http://freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll /article?AID=/20060911/NEWS02/ 609110340 |

Here's a related idea for a "blueway" of a kayaking/canoing "trail" along the Detroit River as well. This could really be a boon for the River and all the communities along it. It's about time Metro Detroit rediscovered the beautiful wildlife and scenery right down the street from them. http://detnews.com/apps/pbcs.d ll/article?AID=/20060911/METRO 01/609110332 |

Yesterday I walked the new trail connecting downtown West Dearborn to the Fairlane Mansion. Very Nice, and it includes a pedestrian bridge over the Rouge. MAC has been working on the blueway for several years now: http://www.mac-web.org/WhatsNe w/WhatsNew.htm |
