Although this show shows a family moving from one suburb to another, the beginning of the show is a "big thumbs up" for Detroit and the region.
It shows nice shoots of downtown, Greenfield Village and more.

It aired last night, airs late tonight and will be shown again Saturday. Worth TIVO time for the beginning of the show.

There was a past episode that looked at a few Detroit bungalows on the Eastside.

That channel needs more gardening shows.

Anybody watch? Quick shots of Detroit skyline at the beginning. One thing cracked me up...their agent was their son that still lived with them. He said he couldn't afford to move out, but was driving a Jaguar! Priorities people!

There was an episode a few months ago that also took place in metro Detroit. The family (young school aged children) in that episode ended up buying a modest but perfectly nice post-war brick colonial in one of the GPs for something like 250k$! 250k$ and the GP school system! Man oh man YAY DETROIT!

I didn't see this recent episode re the adult live at home children but they might be divorced dads which significantly limits the amount they can burn on housing.

Check out HGTV's and Fine Living "What you get for the money" show sometimes. It features Detroit and Metro Detroit homes quite often.

I've noticed that too. I also like "Designed to Sell". They are usually in California it seems. But what amazes me is that they say what the houses usually sell for in the neighborhood. Some of them are 1000-1500 sqare feet for 400-700K! Where the hell do people get that kind of money for a house like that and why not live elsewhere for a fraction of the price? Not even GP or Birmingham comes close to those prices.

I DVR'ed it. They said a lot of nice things about the city and suburbs. I'm so glad.

If you didn't see it you really didn't miss too much. The couple was selling their home in Dearborn Heights and looked at two ranches in Livonia and a condo in Canton.

But yeah, the couple's son was the realtor and he lived with them ... and drove a Jag.
