Let Samuel L. Jackson have his Snakes on a Plane, the D's got Knitting on a Train!: http://freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll /article?AID=/20060824/NEWS01/ 608240313 Very cool activity. The People Mover, despite all it's malignment, is becoming a real cultural and community ammenity. Fashion shows, speed dating, etc. have all occured on it over the past year. What creative ideas will come next? |

I think that's the problem with the People Mover, there aren't a lot of point As or Bs thank make sense. It was designed to connect rail lines coming into downtown. However those rail lines never happened. So it doesn't currently connect much, although new construction downtown is changing that as new businesses and developers see the value of being on or near the People Mover. That said, it would be a creative idea for Detroit to connect A and B via mass transit! |

And short of anchoring the practical mass transit system needed for downtown Detroit to really thrive and grow, I question the People Mover's value as a host for speed dating, knitting, and fashion shows. There are plenty of cheaper alternative venues for those events then a train that transports people from Bricktown to Greektown. |
