A year ago Delphi was in the news. Today it's more of the same financial bleeding, and nobody other than its employees or stockholders seem to care any longer.

A year ago there was an active debate whether a major Detroit business would go bankrupt, and if so, could it continue in business. Some ten months after filing for bankruptcy and after concessions made by GM, it still appears as if Delphi may be toast and unable to continue.

Even after considering the UAW employee buyouts, Delphi still lost about $700 million from operations, about the same as it lost during the first half of 2005. How many more billions can it lose before throwing in the towel? And how will SE MI fare without Delphi and the other Tiers that would go down in flames with it?

And the same Delphi mgt wants bk court to ok more $ bonuses for exec's.

UAW wants to keep $25/hr jobs and six-pack lunches.

How does this company not get liquidated. Only in America with bk laws, can a stooge operation like this stay in business.

Maybe 6 mths from now, they will be put out of misery. I doubt it though.
