There was a gathering of Ford GTs at the Glass House this past weekend. Too bad they weren't GT-40s, although I do like those Gulf colors. (See Le Mans, with Steve McQueen for more info.)

gt-40: most beautiful car ever built. No question at all! The same could be said for the GT as it is a spitting image.

I saw three GT's this past sunday. One in Dearborn, one in troy and one going Northbound on Southfield.

edit: Ah , i guess that is why Hornwrecker, heh

I have to question it, Kova! =)

How could you pick that over any number of classic boat-like cars of the 1950s with curvacious lines, or muscle cars of the 60s and 70s, or even the more exotic supercars of today?

But I'll be lying if I said I wouldn't want a GT40.

And how do they get those around the Metro area without tearing up the bottom of the car? Almost seem too low..

I have seen Camillo Pardo around downtown driving a white GT, this one could be his. He was the Chief Designer of the GT. He lives in the Bankle.

Saturday AM I was taking my kids out to my sister's house in Howell, out I-96 (on my way downtown for the P-W theatre tour) and I saw a procession of about 30 GT's on their way out to Wixom to the mother plant. 'twas cool!

I saw Ford Gt's all over the place on Saturday. Camillo Pardo had an opening at his Gallery. There had to be about 20 of them blasting in and out of the parking lot. Sounded pretty cool.

I heard that they have stopped making them, which is too bad, but maybe it will raise the resale value of the cars.

Resale value! A lot of dealers are sitting on these things asking stupid money. If you are lucky enough to have one on the lot that is a less than desirable color expect to see less than sticker.

I worked in high end auto classified sales and some dealers sat on those pigs for a long time. Inital sales were good till the saturation point was met. The 3 recalls with do not drive advisements did not help either.

I would rather have Holman Moody build a Mark II if I wanted a GT-40. That's the real deal.

I'd take the rumored Corvette SS instead. Pushrod power with a supercharged 650 hp, it'll run circles around a GT. I'm sorry, but perhaps its the nostalgia in me, or the realization of what an engine rebuild involving 4 cams and 32 valves would cost, but I'll take a simple pushrod design any day.

i just read that this past weekend was the Ford GT "homecoming" party, which would explain the many spottings.
