The bottom few pictures are buildings at Garfield and John R. A friend of mine recently told me that these building have just been sold, and I for one am really excited at the prospect of their redevelopment. These building have attracted all kinds of shady characters since I've been here. There are also photos of the Museum of Contemporary Art (http://www.mocadetroit.org/) currently under construction. The pics at the top are of the Ellington development, and loft conversions in the area. Does anyone know what the first 2 photos are all about?

I'd also thought it was interesting that the developers of the "Willy Overland" lofts project added an additional level to the building.

I have no idea what the plans are for the first building, but I see the crews in there daily. The website looks cool by the way, what's the time line for the project?

Yay! More construction dust less glass from broken-in cars on the street!

Apbest: I love the website. I do wish they had floorplans and gave some pricing.

I've been keeping an eye on the progress of these projects too. I don't believe that the two apartment buildings on Garfield (b/w john r and woodward) have been sold. Jonna Co. still owns them and they are responsible for the perimeter fence that went up in the last two days. They are also in the process evicting the few "tenants" that were living in the building on the south side of the street. They were originally allowed to stay there to watch the building and keep people out, but I think a fence will do a better job of that.

here is another one showing the garden level entrances. I like these but it would be even better if they were live work and able to have small independent storefronts.

I really think that the Ellingotn project looks great. I do not know if there are any available units left, but there are sold signs in most of the windows. Also, there is a Starbucks, FedEX Kinkos, and a LaSalle Bank in the building. Hopefully, more of these projects will begin to line up and down Woodward Avenue.

Just talked to a guy from Jonna co, and he said that he's waiting for some kind of NEZ check from the city before starting the construction. I think he did say that the preliminary demolition will start soon though.
