Lurker, you're in luck. You only have to cross Fort Street to get one! |

Vizion, I'm not sure, however the factory portion to the rear is still in use, and Arvin Meritor built a new plant next door in the last two or three years. |

I had heard the name "Ternstedt" applied to General Motors facilities all my life, and never knew where the word came from. Now I know! Window regulators, of all things! Thx Ajw. |

in addition to window cranks they also made radiator caps Imagine once upon a time when an entreprenureal inventor could get big time corporate backing to fund his startup and within a few years not only be making things of functional utility but ALSO uncommon beauty for mass comsumption .... Yay Detroit! |

So what tis made there today? We all can remember when chassis were driven up Fort St. from Fisher's to the Cadillac plant, Michigan Ave. and Clark. The drivers sat on milk or orange crates. Others were delivered from the Fleetwood plant, also Fort Street. SW Detroit has a huge history in the carriage trade, over 100 yrs. atleast. jjaba. |
