I know that the tall ships were in Cleveland this past weekend and will be in Bay City this upcoming weekend... Does anyone know when they will be crusing through downtown Detroit en route to Bay City??? I'm hoping to be on the river and get some good pictures of them...

Tall ships "cruising through downtown Detroit"? Was that the conclusion of the AA to Detroit study? :-)

Check the date at the bottom of it. It's for 2001. I think they're refering to Detroit's 300th birthday celebration in 01.

I heard they are going to have a Pirate's of the Caribbean ship at Bay City. I heard it is the Black Pearl on one side and a British? ship on the other side.

The "BLACK PEARL" ship will not be in Bay CIty.
They were not able to navigate locks damaged in the recent storms out east.

The Pirates movie ships are separate... the Black Pearl is a barge with a tattered ship built around it. The Brittish ships are fully functional tall ships though. If you guys couldn't tell, I kinda like boats :-).

I hope they don't dock at Hart Plaza, a "boatjacking" would really cast apall on our great city.

The Pride of Baltimore which participated in the anniversary celebration in Detroit will be in Bay City July 20th through the 23rd and then on to Green Bay. It should be passing through Detroit any minute now. There are probably other tall ships joining her. Not sure though....

Many of the tall ships are going through today. The Pride of Baltimore II already passed Downtown at 10:05 & is just now entering Lake St. Clair. The Windy II should be at Downtown in the next few minutes. Both she and the Pride of Baltimore II will be overnighting in Algonac. The Nina should be at Downtown in a couple hours. After that, the Niagara and then the Picton Castle will be upbound, but probably not until late afternoon, early evening. Although the cam no longer works, the schedule on the Dossim Museum website is mostly accurate. Monitor it for updated times. http://www.glmi.org/webcam/default.htm
