Any plans to close Erie Street to car traffic for the World Cup final? |

Ah! I want to recommend La Cassalinga...right on erie across from Spago. We've been fans of Spago for many years, and crossed the street recently when we couldn't get a table. La Cassalinga is FANTASTIC! It's run by a fabulous chef who also teached cooking there. The service is top rate too...prices are also reasonable. Our other favourite is Pasta Shop / Cook Shop over on Oulette. Nice pics AIW! |

It's neighbourhoods like that which set Windsor apart from other Canadian cities its size. There's nothing even close to that up here in London, or Kitchener, Regina, etc. |

Take jjaba to Kurley's the next time he's down in Windsor. Then AIW can say he's lunched with the "Mayor" of the Westside. Excellent photos. Great Photos du jure. Is Windsor backing Italy or France? I hear there's French in Canada. jjaba, LOL. |

Don't forget most of Windsor's French are French-Canadians, anmd thus have a closer alliegiance to Quebec more than France. Windsor's Italian Community is large, vocal & strong so they should be leading the support race. As for me? Go France! |

jjaba, strangely no historic little italy to speak of in Detroit, one of the few cities I know of with no "little italy". Historic Italian immigrant neighborhood was on the lower east side (which parishes? I dunno) with additional cluster immigrant neighborhoods in springwells and the older parts of east dearborn. Go France! lol (though I do hope the win the World Cup) No plans to close Erie St. but it will be almost impossible to go through should Italy win (which they won't ) |

Detroit IS Little Italy, Detroit is Bronzeville, Detroit is Little Tel Aviv, Detroit is Little Warsaw. Detroit is Little Beirut. Detroit is Little Budapest. Detroit is Chinatown. There are so many big ethnic groups, you can't claim any part of Detroit as theirs. There are 300,000 Italian-Americans in Detroit area today. The next in command to Cadillac was Italian so they've been here since 1701. They have all types of occupations, including six banks in the 1920s. Although they settled in the Eastern Market area yrs. ago, they have moved all over town. A large group moved up and East, but Dearborn and West has large sections too. jjaba. |
