It was just swell. He was loose and in tune and in great voice.

Cat Power, on the other hand, sucked like a hoover.

I thought he was great. He can still really sing and play guitar very well.

Anyone know if they cancel the bands on account of rain? Anyone know if the New Pornographers are still playing tonight?

Cancellations would likely be made at show time. About 3 years ago, we saw Billy Preston...with lightning in the distance. There was a stoppage halfway through the set...of maybe 30 minutes while it poured, but he came back to finish the show as soon as it was possible.

Ray davies was as expected, not as good as in his kinks hey day, but excellent. I mean, give the man a break, he was shot 2 years ago and is 60 something... so taking that into account, he was great... and RE: cat power, what are you talking about, she was fantastic... everyone always gripes that she does a lousy live show, but i thought it was quit good...

It was a joke dumbass.

The show was excellent. Even better with the beer tent pass provided by a fellow fourmer.

Yeah and Ray is laughing all the way to the bank.
Notice how many Kinks songs are being used in commercials these days?
Ray's brother Dave has one called "I'm not like anybody else" that's being played a lot too.

What was the set list like? Did he play mostly solo stuff or Kinks tunes?

It was a pretty even split of Kinks toons and solo stuff. I actually thought his new solo stuff sounded pretty good.

I highly recommend his new album, especially if you're a Kinks fan.

Really Czar? I will check it out.

Chub, did he play a good mix of Kinks tunes, or just the more popular ones?

I wanted to check it out, but I was out of town on the weekend.

AIW, Kinks fan.
