I was thoroughly unimpressed by the turnout of people at Belle Isle, compared to last year. I sat at the very tip, and it didnt seem to fill up with as many tents as last year. However, the traffic jam getting off the island definately proved me wrong!! Me and the crew camped out from 7am until 10pm, and had the only tent standing after the hurricane rolled through, lol. Sitting at the very tip definately did not serve any benefits, except for holding a board meeting on the island with the best view in town. Too bad the wind was coming up river the whole time and we could not see about 1/2 of the display  | ||

For the most part they were. But when the giant winds came through- someone said their RV weather system clocked winds at 70mph+, it didnt matter how clean you tried to be. I've got 30 students from my organization cleaning up the island today--we've given them 200 trash bags, so we'll see what the results show. I didnt think it was even close to as bad as last year. | ||

Ooooo! Aaaaaaah! Oooooh! Yeah! (applause). Thanks for sharing the pics, I couldn't be there last night, but I did get to take in a much smaller fireworks display, at a golf course in Redford, a block over from my house. They were actually pretty good, great views, but a far cry from the big show downtown. | ||

What brand of bubbly does AIW prefer when watching fireworks? Does the new wife bake treats for jjaba? How's the Tunnel traffic before and after fireworks? jjaba don't do traffic well. jjaba, Westsider. |
