Albert Pujols hits a meaningless home run with two out in the ninth, and hot dogs and showboats in the dugout. His team is about to go 0-4 on a crucial road trip, but he's happy. If Billy Martin was alive and managing Albert, what do you think he'd do?

Right now I don't think ol' Billy would say much immediately because Pujols is leading every category known to man in MLB. But I think he'd pull him to one side and straighten him out afterwards. I think in this day & age, GMs don't have as much pull as they used to back in the day. Now if Pujols pulled this stunt back in the Billy Martin era, he would've been shredded right there & then for all cameras to see.

He'd probably get drunk and do something stupid to split the team like he did in New York with Munson and Reggie. They would then fire him and hire Bob Lemon to carry them to a another World Series.

He'd pull the batting order out of a hat except for Pujols, who'd bat ninth.

Better in the dugout than on the field.

A few years ago during the big loss season I remember going down an hour before the game and getting seats close to the dugout. That's the only advantage of following a bad team, everything else sucks about it.

Bad team with a lot of room at the stadium vs a good team, but you're wedged in like a sardine. It's a good trade off.

I think he'd be pissed at the guy who gave him a meatball to hit out of the park.
