Kmart is auctioning and selling off all its artwork, plus corporate memorabilia. Hopefully a museum or library archives in the metro area can get hold of some of the memorabilia, instead of it being stashed into private collections and/or sold on eBay.

"Kmart sold its headquarters building to Madison Marquette last year. The firm plans to demolish Kmart’s building and redevelop it into a mixed-use project."

Where's the uproar???

Interesting news. IMO, KMart has always been a first class operation and to have the news revealed concerning the artwork collection does not surprise me. Sure, KMart is a discount retailer, but it is so far above most discount operations. I think communities appreciate KMart.

A KMart where I live recently turned into a Sears Essentials store and I don't go there anymore.

Booooo Eddie Lampert ...:-(
