It's going to be reborn as a place where people do cocaine and dance.

i think this would lead to a glut of places specializing in this around town

Oslo was a nice place with slack service but tasty sushi and Manhattan-worthy ambiance. I look forward cautiously to its reopening, if indeed it's true.

Another place I really miss is Agave. Man on these pleasant summer nights there was no better place to hang out than the patio, sipping those tasty margaritas and scoping out the hot waitresses and patrons.

I think this has been covered in another thread before, but why did it close and does anyone know anything about it reopening?

Agave was indeed great in the summer. One of my favorite hangouts. I've heard rumors about a reopening, but nothing that has been substantiated.

Vicente, the owner of "Vicente's" downtown has been looking into purchasing Agave and turning it into a Tapas restaurant. He seems pretty serious about it

sounds like drinking is the key to turning this city around. :-)
I do love going DT often and checking out the different venues and feel the vibe of the city.

I thought they were in trouble when they bought that neon sign from CVS that said "open."

All that money on a cool interior, awesome lighting...then that red neon, $15.99 "open" sign.

Sigh...

Cheesy neon signage aside, I think this will be great for the area again. I loved its first incarnation and hope that this "new & improved" Oslo will be just as good.

That neon Open sign was blue with a purple one for Sushi.

I swung by Friday night at about 9 PM. It was closed. Based on what I read here on DY, I thought it was open.
