I know, same old story, different member! But I hope someone has any kind of lead that might be helpful for me.

Times are tight, so I'm not even going to rely on my specific background or education at this point, I just need to get back to work in some capacity that will allow me to care for my family.

A position as executive assistant, administrative assistant, secretary, clerk, anything office related would be wonderful. Never mind my degrees, never mind my professional experience in the automotive industry, none of that has helped me in the last 9 months of unemployment, right now all I need is a job before my second unemployment extension runs out!

If anyone has any ideas or knowledge of something at their company or a friend, or a friend of a friend - I would be SO gracious and appreciative!

I'm in Macomb county, but very flexible on location within reason, of course.

Any luck at Kelly Services? Try www.umich.edu for job postings on campus. They have Dearborn and Flint postings there too. A hike, but good dough and benefits.

Keep reading Service Masters is expanding. Bet they need support staff for the offices.

Just a thought.

Sad, but Michigan is like a sinking ship and we're years from relief.

Chuck_g's post reminded me of this bookmark I check frequently.

http://oaklandcc.edu/placement /jobs/jobsall.asp

And this one searches all job boards with keywords, and emails a list to your inbox every morning. It's been pretty good for me so far.

Thanks for the updates, links and additional information! I'm still looking and watching this thread, so thanks for all of your input.

I'm still waiting to hear from a job that I interviewed for in December! They move SO slow! I have a friend that works there and she said they haven't filled a single one of the positions but they were looking at seating issues. It's ridiculous that they take this long because two months later the people they interviewed may not even be available. Who am I kidding, this is Michigan, we'll all still be waiting for them to call!

I've answered ads, and interviewed for jobs that were for "just in case" openings that never materialized. A waste of my time and money, for non-existent positions. Business has just dropped the ball for the last eight years concerning employees, or just people in general.

Murray Feldman says food retail is safe. Check Plum Market, Westborn, and Nino Salvaggio's. They are upscale places in high income areas that pay better for retail work.
