I've just completed bartending training and am looking for work. I am pleasant, hard working and dependable and work well in fast paced environments. I deal well with people in various situations and am eager to get started. I would prefer afternoon, evening, night time hours in the downtown area. Please contact if interested. Nawww - can't gamble where you work. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it used to be that if you worked at MGM you couldn't play at Motor City OR MGM and vice versa - BUT you could play at Greektown. Does that still stand? |

Either way, good luck Dae_won. I always thought if I had my bartending license I would seek work at a casino. I did do a little stint of bartending in my early years, but that was WAY before one was required to be licensed and all that stuff. Besides, I was no good at it and I hated doing it anyway! I had the good sense to know I wasn't cut out for that line of work and made a hasty exit. |

Dae_won - I like people just fine. Didn't have a problem with that at all. It was the stress of the job. The boss and owner of the bar insisted that I remember what every single person liked to drink. It was expected that when they came into the establishment, I was to have fixed them their favorite drink and placed it in front of them. On a busy night that was impossible for me to do. We had a lot of neighborhood regulars. I just could not get myself used to looking at someone's face and automatically know what their drink was. The bar owner was used to everyone and he wanted me to know everything in a week. The place was a lot like "Cheers" - where everybody knew your name. People had their regular spots to sit, etc. It was a friendly neighborhood bar and a lot fun to be there. It didn't take me too long to figure out I'd rather be the customer than be the barmaid! It's just as well...we were all better off in the long run that I failed at being a barmaid. ANYWAY! How is your job hunting going? Did you get over to the casinos? Keep us posted on where you start working. I'll bet some of the forumers will come by for a drink. |

*LOL* I know how you feel about the remembering..I've worked in alot of gas stations and convenience stores and the regulars always liked it when you had their brand of smokes on the counter for them when you saw them coming..It does take time to learn though... I did check out the casinos and left apps but they weren't hiring at the time...Alot of them aren't at the moment it seems so i will try again after the holidays...hehe but ye when i find a job i will definately post where and everyone will have to come and order something with 20 different ingredients *LOL* |
