My phone is a Razor, with a 1.3 megapixel camera. The pics were taken at 640 x 480 resolution and degraded further when I converted them from bitmap to jpeg. Had I taken the shots at 1280 x 1024, the pictures might have been too large for the phone to send to my email. Why they would make a phone capable of taking pictures it cannot sent is beyond me.

Nice Pics.

I have a question about Cadilac Tower.
I've always been curious about those 7-8 oddly placed windows on the side that has had the murals. Am I correct in assuming that those windows were not apart of the original design?
What was the reason for the one side being almost windowless? Was a building contructed next to it that has since been torn down?
Thanks for any help.

My understanding is (and I may be wrong) that any time you see a building with a windowless side, it originally had a planned twin. I'm guessing economic conditions or something similar resulted in the second building never being constructed.

Not really.

Usually the elevators are pushed to one side of a narrow skyscraper, allowing for a more usable floor.

That is the case in this tower. I also believe it is the case for the Broderick.

The windows are additions added after the neighboring structure was demolished.

It didnt seem like too many people were out today, though I waited for the few to venture by before snapping my shots.

I was planning on commenting regarding that. Everything looks great... the buildings at least. Otherwise it looks pretty dead.

Run a search in the archives for the "Real estate exchange building". That was the one that was demolished.

Great looking shots of a great city. Thanks for showing the positive aspects of Detroit. Those are some awesome photos from a cell phone camera!! My camera phone really sucks..I definitely need to upgrade. But the Detroit downtown scene looks very inviting with lots to do. I will definitely check it out when I visit!
